Cactus Country started as a South Texas dance band in 1975 and never quit. Fifty years later the same thing still fills a hall: pedal steel, fiddle, a rhythm section that doesn't rush, and songs people actually want to two-step to.
Husband-and-wife founders Tony Franckowiak and Brenda Dlugosh have carried the band through five decades of dance halls, rodeos, trail rides, conventions and weddings — from the Quihi Gun Club on a Friday night to the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.
